Petroglyph expert & Workshop

On April 10th, Dorothy Graden, an expert on petroglyphs, who has presented in Moscow and Cork, Ireland, will inform us about southwest petroglyphs. Patricia Cummings will tell about mideast glyphs a teach about ez-cut while we carve petroglyphs for notecards. This workshop will take place from 10 a.m. to 1:30 p.m., at Northview Elementary school in Valparaiso. Cost will be $10 for members and $15 for non-members. Dinner, & Convention Share

A tradition of District one is to have a dinner where we can all get together and share what we learned at the Conventions and to network during a dinner. Chicago Road Trip!!!

Look Out Chicago!! We will take a road trip to Chicago, in June, to visit the Art Institute of Chicago's Teacher Education center. Afterwards, we'll grab lunch and then go on an art tour of the city. Crayola DreamMakers Workshop

We will be presenting a Crayola DreamMakers Workshop. In this workshop attendees will learn a couple of art projects that can be linked to regular curriculum. These workshops will occur at a regular basis so that we can touch on different core subject areas. The first workshop will highlight the Language Arts. Elementary Division Meeting is set!

The next AEAI Elementary Division meeting/workshop will be held on Tuesday, June 9, 2009, in Fort Wayne, Indiana from 9:00 AM to 3:00 PM.
We will begin our meeting/workshop exploring new product materials at
United Art and Education Warehouse
4413 Airport Expressway
Fort Wayne, IN.
9:00 AM to 11:00 AM United Art and Education Warehouse
11:20 - 12:30 break for lunch
12:45 PM – 3:00 PM
We will reconvene at the newly remodeled Allen County Pubic Library in downtown Fort Wayne
900 Library Plaza, Fort Wayne, IN 46802
We will be entering the library from the parking lot across the street at 306 W Washington Blvd. near Dunkin Donuts.

The workshop is FREE to members. Space in the computer lab is limited. Registration is Required. Please register early.

2008 AEAI State Conference

The 2008 Art Education Association of Indiana State Conference is rapidly approaching. French Lick Resort in French Lick, Indiana, is the location of the AEAI conference this year. Be sure check out the Art Education Association of Indiana website to see the list of wonderful workshops and collaborative activities available. Don't forget that there will be a free district workshop for all of the members of this district attending the state conference. It is a great time to participate in professional development!
